PART 3
TEACH THEM TO TINKER
(Play through the process)

THE PROBLEM: Writers struggle to generate and develop creative ideas.

THE SOLUTION: As
teachers we have to getting students to persevere, to be accurate, to inspired. It is a big challenge that we ever imagine, always we think we provide the best strategies to them to generate and execute great ideas; but the BEST WAY to develop those skills is that we should study our students troughout the process, not only the strongest students but also the weakest.

TEACH THEM TO TINKER

More than any prompt, organizer or strategy (that you assign) the spaces, supplies and tools we provide serve as an incentive to develop new ideas and can help our students to find the solution to the difficulties presented in the process.

TALENTED WRITERS ARE FAR MORE THAN EFFICIENT OR PROFICIENT THEY ARE ADEPT.

  • CHARACTERIZING THE ADEPT WRITER:

"APPROACHING WRITING AS A CONTINUOUS PROCESS FORWARDED BY EFFICIENT MOVEMENT FROM ONE STEP TO THE NEXT, OFTEN FAILS TO HELP WRITERS DISCOVER ANYTHING NEW ABOUT THEMSELVES OR THEIR WORK"

TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT!

WHAT IS TINKERING?

MEANINGFUL SPACES, INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS AND ANCHOR CHARTS ENABLE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING AND PLAY.

HACK 2
REMAKE YOUR SPACE
Design with Making in Mind

AS A TEACHERS,
WE CAN
CHANGE THIS

INTO SOMETHING BETTER

To have the opportunity to design a writing space that  gave serious thought to the possitive effects of the learning place on the learner.

WHAT BENEFITS WILL IT BRING TO

YOUR STUDENTS?

These allow writers to create a lot of ideas. These instruments motivate students to write and work with others.

1-Provide containers.
LIKE THE WALLS

The most important containers are the ones that hold our ideas and our thinking.

Index cards

scraps of paper

 sticky notes

 chart paper

Capture the ideas, spread them out, and move them around of one purpose.

Designate spaces for collaborative and independent work.

Reserve a place for writers to share their learning

Treat your walls as interactive tools

Motivate your students to write, to compare their ideas with succes and make decisions. Help them to connect with other writers who are writing similar proyects and working to solve it.

Just is important before starting a school year

to clarify the rules of the class, it is also very important to make a MANIFESTO in your group of work.

What is a Manifesto?

A manifesto is a powerful set of directives that are hard to ignore, so they feel a bit like rules, which comforts.

                              WISE WORDS

  • In the most effective learning communities all teachers are learners and all learners are teachers, regardless of title or age. Foster a collaborative.

  • Let’s give up the traditionalist school where students only received knowledge, today students are ones who give their ideas and the teachers are the guides.

Show them how to tinker with

Demonstrate how you change your own messy thinking to unexpected but rewarding conclusions. Model productive play.

Promote ways to share and exhibit work to motivate others pay attention to the writers and work with and let others build on them and reshape them.

THAT IS THE HACK IN ACTION
